Giovanni Stroppa’s press conference

On the eve of Venezia FC’s official Serie A Enilive 2026/27 debut against Lecce, head coach Giovanni Stroppa addressed the media, previewing the match and providing an update on the team’s condition. The match against the Apulian side is scheduled for Sunday, August 23 at 6:30 PM at the Penzo Stadium.

“I see a team eager and impatient to get started. We will try to be balanced and solid against a tough opponent, who already made a very good impression in their Coppa Italia match, creating many goalscoring opportunities. This week, we have worked a lot on the things we did not do well against Modena and on making sure we can take all three points tomorrow. Just like our opponents, we will have the knife between our teeth.

Everyone’s contribution is needed. Last season, we got many results through the substitutions, and in that regard I was very pleased with the attitude of those who came on against Modena. I have the utmost consideration for every player.

I’m feeling great, in the right place at the right time, just like the team. I see a special dressing room, just like last year. There are some really great things to see, such as how much these players want to be together, and that is a really important advantage. Serie A has to be approached with this sense of unity, and I am very satisfied with the serenity I see in the players.”
