Juan Jesus joins Venezia FC
Venezia FC announces the signing of defender Juan Jesus. The player has signed an agreement that will keep him at the arancioneroverde club until the end of the 2026/27 season, with the option of a one-year extension subject to certain conditions.
Having come through the youth academy of Sport Club Internacional, Juan Jesus made his first-team debut during the 2009/10 season, at the end of which he won the Copa Libertadores.
He subsequently moved to Italy in January 2012, joining Inter. In total, he made 142 appearances for the Nerazzurri, scoring one goal and providing three assists.
In the 2016/17 season, he joined Roma, where he spent five seasons, making a total of 102 appearances, scoring one goal and providing one assist.
In the summer of 2021, he moved to Napoli. In the Azzurri shirt, he made 130 appearances, scoring five goals and providing two assists. He won the Italian league title twice, in the 2022/23 and 2024/25 seasons, and was part of the Napoli squad that won the 2025/26 Italian Super Cup.
Juan Jesus also enjoyed success with Brazil’s youth national teams, winning the South American U-20 Championship in 2011 and the FIFA U-20 World Cup in 2011. He made his senior Brazil debut in May 2012 in a friendly against Denmark and went on to make four appearances for the national team.
Juan Jesus has also made a total of 280 Serie A appearances, scoring five goals and providing two assists, as well as 37 appearances in the Europa League and 24 in the Champions League.
