Pasquale Mazzocchi's Press Conference

Today, at the Press Room of the Ca’ Venezia Sports Centre, Venezia FC defender Pasquale Mazzocchi spoke at a press conference, answering questions from the journalists in attendance.

“I feel good physically. I’m recovering from my injury, but I’m in good shape and I’m feeling well, also because I’m someone who never holds back and always gives everything, even in training. I returned to Venezia with a great deal of experience that I’ve gained over the years, and I’m really happy to have made the decision to return to a city where both my family and I have always felt very comfortable, and to a club with ambitious plans.

We’re at the beginning of the season, so we shouldn’t be satisfied with the way we’ve started, but all the conditions are there for us to have a great season. I’ve found a great group here and there are some excellent players. Certainly, in these opening games, we’ve also been a little unlucky in terms of key incidents, but I want to stress again that we have a great group. We simply need to improve in terms of being more of a unit during the defensive phase.

Coach Stroppa has a clear and important football philosophy. We work a lot on possession and the attacking phase, but especially recently we’ve also been working hard on our defensive organisation in order to find a better balance. I’m sure we’ll work well together. Tactically, I’ve gained enough experience to play both as a right-sided and left-sided player. Overall, this is a squad made up of excellent players, and those of us with a little more experience have to be good at passing on to the younger players the sense of belonging and the importance of wearing this shirt".
