The Venezia FC Lionesses share the points in the eighth matchday of the 2026/27 Serie B Women’s Championship against San Marino Academy, in a match played this afternoon at the Ca’ Venezia Sports Centre. All the action came in the second half, with Petruzzelli’s side taking the lead through Cavicchia, only to be immediately pegged back by D’Elia. The Arancioneroverdi pushed until the final whistle in search of a winner and even hit the crossbar through Zuanti, but were unable to find another goal as the match ended 1-1.

Petruzzelli’s side made a positive start and came close to taking the lead in the 8th minute with a header from Salvi, following a cross from Imperiale, which went narrowly wide. In the 11th minute, the Arancioneroverdi threatened again, with Scherlizin receiving the ball inside the box but taking too long to get her shot away from a promising position. San Marino Academy responded in the 14th minute with an effort from Collova, which failed to trouble Scotti. Venezia’s best chance of the first half came in the 36th minute: Salvi played the ball through to Zuanti, who entered the box, dribbled past an opponent and shot towards the near post, only to be denied by an alert Boaglio. The teams therefore went into the break with the score at 0-0.

The Lionesses started the second half strongly too, coming close to scoring just five minutes after the restart with an effort from Salvi following a fine individual run by Zuanti, with the ball narrowly missing the target. The breakthrough finally came in the 12th minute: Zuanti delivered an excellent pass to Cavicchia, and the Arancioneroverde number 23 entered the box before lifting the ball over Boaglio with an unstoppable chip. Just a few minutes later, Venezia came close to doubling their lead when Zuanti unleashed a powerful shot from the edge of the attacking third, which struck the crossbar. In the 20th minute, San Marino Academy found the equaliser: Scotti made a save from close range, but the ball fell to D’Elia in the centre of the box, who made no mistake from a few yards out to make it 1-1. The Lionesses then pushed forward in search of another goal, also bringing on new signing Ferrandi. They threatened in the 30th minute through Imprezzabile, who was denied at the last moment by the opposing goalkeeper, and again in the 41st minute with a dangerous cross from Coda towards the far post, but no teammate was there to turn it into a goal. After three minutes of added time, the match came to an end with the score remaining 1-1.
