The Venezia FC Lionesses suffer a defeat in the seventh round of the 2026/27 Serie B Women's Championship against Genoa. In the match played this afternoon at 2:00 PM at the “La Sciorba” sports ground in Genoa, the home side came out on top with a final score of 4-0, having already taken control of the match in the first half.
Genoa created their first chance in the 4th minute with a cross from the right picked up by Massa, whose shot was deflected out for a corner. The Rossoblù continued to attack and took the lead in the 12th minute from a corner on the left, as Bargi, perfectly positioned at the far post, headed the ball past Scotti. In the 19th minute, Genoa doubled their lead, once again from a corner. The ball found Hilaj, who beat Scotti with a diving header. In the 40th minute, Massa tried her luck with a shot from the edge of the box, but Scotti was alert and prevented a third goal. The 3-0 goal came just a few minutes later, as Cisotti capitalised on a loose ball in the box and beat the Venezia goalkeeper. The teams therefore went into the break with the home side leading 3-0.
The first real chance of the second half fell to Genoa, with a through ball finding substitute Monterubbiano, who came face to face with Scotti but was denied by the visiting goalkeeper. In the 62nd minute, Genoa made it 4-0, with Massa finishing off a well-worked team move. In the closing stages, the Arancioneroverdi also tried to get on the scoresheet, first through Salvi, who received a cross from Pizzuti, but saw her shot saved by Ruotolo, and then through Vergari, following a clearance by Scotti, only to be denied once again by Ruotolo. The Lionesses will return to action on Saturday, 7 November, at 2:00 PM, at home against San Marino.
