A defeat for Venezia FC Women’s Leonesse came on Matchday 4 of the 2026/27 Serie B Women’s Championship against Bologna. In the match played this afternoon at 3:00 p.m. at the Ca’ Venezia Sports Centre, the visitors came out on top with a final score of 1-3. After a goalless first half, everything happened after the break: the Arancioneroverdi fell three goals behind, pulled one back, but were unable to get back into the game in the closing stages.

The first chance of the match came in the 4th minute, when Bologna’s Rognoni fired towards goal, but Scotti made a fine save to turn the effort behind for a corner. The resulting corner led to another opportunity for the visitors, with Di Luzio shooting but failing to find the target. Bologna threatened again in the 17th minute, with Rognoni receiving the ball inside the penalty area and firing at goal, only to be denied once more by Scotti. As the minutes passed, the Leonesse grew into the game and came close to taking the lead in the 39th minute. A fine counterattack down the right saw Spinelli pick out Coda with a precise low cross into the box, but her effort was deflected at the last moment by the Bologna defence. Before half-time, Rognoni had another attempt on goal, which was comfortably saved by Scotti. The teams went into the break level at 0-0.

The second half got off to a difficult start for the Arancioneroverdi, as the visitors opened the scoring just four minutes after the restart. Di Luzio met a cross from the right and headed past Scotti. Three minutes later, Bologna doubled their lead, with Di Luzio again making the most of a cross into the box to beat Scotti for the second time. In the 67th minute, Bologna made it 0-3 through Arcangeli, who headed home following a blocked move and a cross into the area. Petruzzelli’s side did not give up and, in the 85th minute, pulled a goal back. Zuanti produced an excellent run with the ball from inside her own half, won a duel and unleashed a shot that found the far corner. In the 90th minute, the Leonesse appeared to score a second, once again through Zuanti following a scramble inside the box, but the goal was ruled out for offside. After three minutes of added time, the match came to an end with the score at 1-3. In the next round, scheduled for October 18 following the international break, the Arancioneroverdi will travel to face Catania.
