The post match of Como - Venezia

At the end of the match between Como and Venezia FC, valid for the tenth matchday of the 2026/27 Enilive Serie A Championship and ending with a 1-0 victory for the Lombardy side, head coach Davide Nicola shared his analysis of the match.

Davide Nicola, Venezia FC head coach.
“We played the game we needed to play against a strong opponent. Essentially, there are two things we want to achieve: be effective defensively and never give up on our attacking approach. It wasn't easy today. Como have an impressive style of play, but they didn't overwhelm us. At the same time, in the last two matches there were two incidents that perhaps took a little energy away from us as well. I think the referee did well today, but I didn't understand what happened afterwards, because it was a penalty all day long. Perhaps if you take the lead, the dynamics of the game change. We must never lose sight of our journey and where we want to get to.

For a team fighting to achieve our objective, every match is incredibly difficult. It's important to try to take something from every game that helps you grow. We came here with the intention of getting the most out of the match, trying to do what was necessary to stay in the game and be effective. Starting tomorrow, we'll get back to work with energy and a desire to improve. I'm convinced that this team has what it takes to achieve its objective by the end of the season. We're fortunate to have a very well-organised and highly competent club behind us, and we must do our best to secure survival, while taking into account the challenges and differences we face and continuing to grow from one match to the next. We mustn't let our emotions fluctuate with every result; instead, we must be capable of never losing heart".
