The post match of Venezia - Inter

At the end of the match between Venezia FC and Inter, valid for the ninth matchday of the 2026/27 Enilive Serie A Championship and which ended in a 0-2 victory for the Lombardy side, head coach Davide Nicola and striker Lion Lauberbach shared their thoughts on the match.

Davide Nicola, Venezia FC head coach.
“Tonight we played a match in which we remained tactically and technically disciplined throughout, paying attention to detail and adapting to the different phases of the game. The team performed very well against a very strong opponent. We need to understand that in Serie A, scoring at the right moment can shift the balance of a match, including from an emotional perspective. I am extremely proud of my team for the hard work and commitment they put in every day. If this is the spirit we maintain, we have all the tools we need to do well. We must focus on the next match, with the aim of finding consistency in our performances, which will then lead to consistency in our results. Tonight, we did an excellent job in both phases of play, and I am convinced that we have the tools to do even better. I disagree with how the Sohm foul incident was interpreted, but I accept it because playing at this level requires emotional control and mental strength. I am confident that we will start picking up points. Beyond the frustration one may feel about the result, seeing the fans appreciate the team's commitment and hard work on the pitch is a great source of satisfaction for a coach. We need to build something over time, and this is the right attitude to do so".

Lion Lauberbach, Venezia FC striker.
“Today was a bittersweet evening. We played well, but we didn't come away with any points. We are making progress under Coach Nicola, and we showed that again on the pitch today against a team at the top of the table. Coach Nicola has a very direct approach and pushes us to always give our best, both in training and during matches. We need to stay united and positive in the dressing room, trying to build on what the coach is asking of us, because we can already see signs of progress. Tonight, I'm happy to have played well alongside Akor, even though we didn't score, which is something we're disappointed about".
