Thórir Jóhann Helgason joins Venezia FC

Venezia FC is pleased to announce the signing of midfielder Thórir Jóhann Helgason, who has agreed a contract with the club until the end of the 2028/29 season.

After beginning his career with Haukar Hafnarfjördur, the Icelandic midfielder, born in 2000, moved to FH Hafnarfjördur, where he recorded 8 goals and 10 assists in 65 appearances.

In the 2021/22 season, Helgason moved to Italy to join Lecce, making a total of 72 appearances for the club, with 1 goal and 5 assists. During the 2023/24 season, he also spent time in Germany with Eintracht Braunschweig, where he scored 3 goals and provided 4 assists in 27 matches.

At international level, Helgason has earned 20 caps for the Iceland national team, scoring 2 goals.
