Venezia FC presents the 26/27 Third Jersey
Venezia FC and NOCTA unveil the 26/27 Third Jersey, introducing a new alternative Winged Lion crest, which will stand alongside the current logo, bringing the Club’s past, present and future into a new visual expression.
Future Memory is the idea at the heart of the project, expanding the Club’s visual identity: looking to the past with reverence while creating new forms for the future. The concept connects the 26/27 Third Jersey with the debut of Venezia FC’s new alternative crest, a contemporary interpretation of the Winged Lion of Saint Mark, conceived to stand alongside the main crest and to build a bridge between Venezia FC’s local and global community, connecting the Club to the history, art and culture that define its context, in a dialogue that goes beyond football.
Presented in a distinctive red, black and gold colourway, the 26/27 Third Jersey draws from one of the most recognisable red kits in Venezia FC’s history. The oversized crest recalls the proportions and visual character of classic football shirts from the 1990s, while a black polo collar, black shoulder panels and gold detailing define the silhouette. The body is constructed in a tonal jacquard inspired by the rich textiles of Venetian palazzi.
Within its checkerboard structure, a closer look reveals nautical signal flags spelling out VENEZIA, weaving the city’s relationship with water and its maritime culture directly into the fabric.
The 26/27 Third Jersey is unveiled through a photographic campaign aboard La Serenissima, Venezia FC’s new premium hospitality boat, bringing together players from the Club’s Men’s and Women’s First Teams.
The 26/27 Third Kit will be available from September 3 online and at official Venezia FC stores – in both Venezia and Match versions – featuring the official Cynar Spritz, PokerStarsNews and GWM sponsor branding.
The Alternative Crest. Reimagining the Winged Lion
As a shared icon with centuries of history and meaning, the Winged Lion presented the Club with the challenge of creating something distinctive while approaching its heritage with respect.
Rather than reproducing a historic version, the new crest retains the nuances and curves of a hand-drawn, calligraphic line, translating them into a flexible, contemporary mark conceived specifically for the footballing identity of Venezia FC.
Its details draw direct inspiration from Venice. The six feathers of the wings represent the city’s six sestieri. The Lion’s paws rest firmly on the football, recalling historic depictions in which the Lion stands between land and water — a position that expresses the concept of union between Venice and the mainland, extended here to the Club’s local and global community. The seams of the football beneath the Lion’s paws trace the curves of the Grand Canal and the Giudecca Canal, and the movement of its mane recalls the silhouette of the Corno Dogale, one of the most recognisable symbols of Venetian tradition.
The new Winged Lion does not replace the Club’s existing logo, but expands its visual language, adding a new expression of its history, culture and evolution. The crest will also extend beyond the 26/27 Third Jersey to a dedicated streetwear capsule and a celebratory jacket (anthem jacket), creating a shared narrative across performance and lifestyle.
